The history of Pathway

Pathway Church, formerly known as Chippewa Evangelical Free Church, opened its doors on Easter Sunday in 1975. Thirty-nine people attended that first service at the Brighton Township Firemen's Social Hall. After meeting in various locations for the next few years, the congregation acquired our current Braun Road property and constructed a building on it. The first service took place on April 15, 1979. In 1981, a wing of classrooms was added, and six years later, a two-level addition was constructed. With steadily increasing attendance, the church sensed God's direction in 2000 to embark on another building project. Construction on the main auditorium began in November of 2002, and the new structure opened on March 21, 2004. From the first gathering in the social hall to the present, where approximately 1,500 people worship each weekend, Pathway Church has been marvelously blessed by God. Through it all, the vision of impacting our community and bringing hope and healing through Jesus Christ has remained our deep and abiding commitment. And that will never change.
What We Believe
Our Team
Board of Elders
Pathway’s elders are elected by church members during the Annual Celebration and Business Meeting each May. Their primary roles are to pray, cast vision, and care for our congregation. The elders also conduct interviews for those who want to become members or be baptized.
